Creating gardens: all the advice

To create gardens capable of combining functionality and aesthetic beauty it is necessary to have some knowledge and comply with a few simple rules, which will allow the newborn green space to proliferate in a short time and with simplicity. Of course, we need to start from the design, which means to think about the kind of garden you want to create. Among vegetable gardens and flower beds, among rock gardens and evergreen gardens, among Zen gardens and Italian gardens, without forgetting flower gardens and landscaped gardens, the range of choices available is undoubtedly vast. If you want to get away from the classic garden, for example, you can opt for a rock garden, characterized by boulders and stones, bearing in mind that, in this type of environment, plants that do not require special care can grow, as they are used to develop in arid and poorly maintained environments. Much attention, of course, must be reserved for the climatic conditions: in short, trying to create a tropical garden on the hill will undoubtedly be an imaginative and original idea, but difficult to apply. Taking the climate into account, therefore, means paying attention to the drought of the summer months, to the low temperatures of the winter period, but also to the quantity and quality of precipitation and the frequency of the winds. Once the space in which the garden is to be built has been identified, we can think about the placement of flowers, flower beds or plants. It is good to know, from this point of view, the fertility of the soil, as well as the degree of acidity.

Another factor to be evaluated is the exposure. If the land is exposed to the west, in summer the garden will be particularly hot, but in particularly cold winters: it will be preferable, therefore, to opt for rustic plants that prefer the sun. In the case of exposure to the east, instead, the garden will receive the rays of the sun starting from the early morning, but only until the very first hours of the afternoon: in other words, it will heat up very quickly, but it will cool down just as quickly. In short, there is the risk of late frosts, and therefore this option is not recommended for those who want to grow fruit trees and in general species characterized by early blooms. It is not difficult as one might think, instead, the care of a garden facing north; it, in fact, by cooling and heating very slowly, does not subject the plants to sudden frosts or particularly sudden temperature variations. Clearly, the best exposure is to the south, which always guarantees the light of the sun: ideal in cold areas, while in warm areas it is sufficient to provide a shelter to favor shading and avoid burns to the plants.Garden and animals

Furthermore, in creating a garden, it is also good to consider the possible presence of animals: in fact, from this comes the need to enclose one or more spaces. For the same reason, it will be better to avoid rare and delicate plants. Clearly, in planning a fundamental role is up to the available budget. The accounts, of course, must be made immediately, at the beginning, to avoid starting jobs that cannot be completed. In the event that you contact a company, then, it will be good to get a quote, so as to compare it with the amount you intend to spend. On the other hand, we cannot forget that a well-tended garden represents an investment that contributes to increasing the value and price of a home: for this reason it is worth dedicating special attention to it.

The context

Furthermore, the garden must be made in such a way as to place it in a harmonious and balanced manner in the context in which it is placed. In short, a green space, no matter how nice or precious it may be, will not be considered perfect if it is in contrast or different from the style that dominates the home. In short, between the style of the house, the plants and the garden, there should be a rather obvious connection, so that the environment created is homogeneous. A house with dark walls, therefore, must be enhanced and enlivened by a garden with plants with bright flowers and light leaves; on the other hand, a house with light walls will prefer species whose leaves have an intense green color. A long house will be made more beautiful by tall trees on one side and shrubs on the other. From a practical point of view, moreover, it will be advisable to create rest areas, paths and paths, preferably made with a material that recalls a wall or a room in the house. It must not be forgotten, in fact, that the garden, even before being a pleasant place in terms of aesthetics, must be a functional part of the house, to "live": it is the same reason why, among other things, it must be equipped of benches or chairs (perhaps rocking), a table and a gazebo (if the size and budget allow it) that gives life to a shaded and sheltered area, to protect yourself from the sun or to enjoy a summer downpour in the air open without getting wet.
